Description
Our standard colours are Light, Medium and Dark, which go on any of the oaks, and Mahogany and Walnut, which go on those timbers. The set shows you all five, finished in the same shop as the cabinets and to the same sheen, so what arrives is what you will get.
If none of the five is right, we colour-match to whatever you give us — a paint reference, a piece of existing joinery, or a length of fabric. There is no extra charge for matching on a standard-range cabinet.
These are the colour samples. Timber samples are £10 each and are ordered separately.
Posted free. The cost comes off your order if you go ahead. Samples are charged in full and are not part of the deposit and balance on a cabinet.
Choosing a colour
Colour is a finishing decision rather than a timber one: the species sets the grain and the polish sets the colour. That is why matching to something you already own is possible at all, and why it is done by eye against the actual piece rather than from a reference number.
If you are matching, a daylight photograph and an evening one both help, and an offcut or a drawer front helps most. Where the existing piece is old, matching means colouring the new timber forward to where the old one already is.
