Legal Information
The legal information a company is required to publish, in one place and in plain English: who you are actually contracting with, where we are registered, what we are insured for, and what to do if something goes wrong.

Who you are contracting with
Sporting Cabinetmakers is a trading name of Reeve & Co Interiors Limited. It is not a separate company. Every quotation, invoice, contract and warranty is issued by and enforceable against Reeve & Co Interiors Limited, and any legal notice should be addressed to that company at its registered office.
We say this at the top because trading names cause genuine confusion, and because you are entitled to know which balance sheet stands behind a deposit before you pay one.
Statutory legal information
Required by section 82 of the Companies Act 2006, the Companies (Trading Disclosures) Regulations 2008 and regulation 6 of the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002.

Prices quoted on this website are exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise. Where a price is described as “from”, it is a genuine floor drawn from work we have actually completed, not a headline figure.
The wider group
Reeve & Co Interiors Limited also trades as Reeve & Co Interiors, making bespoke kitchens, libraries, panelling, staircases and fitted furniture from the same workshop and with the same people. If your project covers both sporting and domestic joinery it is usually simpler to run it under a single contract; ask and we will explain how that works.
Other companies in the family — including Reeve & Co (Bathrooms and Tiles) Limited and My Gathering Limited — are separate legal entities with different shareholders and have no involvement in anything commissioned through this website. Nothing here creates any obligation on them.
Insurance
We carry public liability, employer’s liability and goods-in-transit cover appropriate to the value of the work we undertake, and our fitters work under our own cover rather than a subcontractor’s. Certificates are issued to main contractors as a matter of course at the point of appointment, and are available to private clients on request — architects and builders should simply ask and they will come by return.
Finished work is covered at full value in transit and until it is installed and signed off, including on European and American commissions. We do not ask clients to insure work in transit and we do not use third-party pallet networks for finished pieces.
Data protection registration
Reeve & Co Interiors Limited is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office under registration number ZC219579 and is the data controller for this website. How we handle what you send us — including the particular care we take with gun lists and address details — is set out on our privacy and cookies page.
Copyright and intellectual property
All text, photography, drawings and design work on this website are the property of Reeve & Co Interiors Limited unless otherwise stated, and are protected by copyright.
You are welcome to quote from these pages, and to link to them, provided you attribute the source and do not present the material as your own. What we do object to — and have had to object to before — is another maker lifting our specification figures wholesale and presenting them as their own construction. If you make cabinets to 3 mm steel throughout, say so and be held to it; if you do not, do not copy the page that says you do.
Drawings prepared for a commission remain our intellectual property until the commission is paid in full, at which point a licence to use them for the purposes of that project passes to the client. Drawings issued at quotation stage may not be used to obtain a competing quotation. This is standard in bespoke joinery and it is stated in our terms and conditions.
Accuracy of this website
We have written this site to be more specific than is usual in our trade, which means there is more here that can be wrong. Every figure on it is our own, taken from work we have made. But specifications develop, suppliers change, and the law moves.
Nothing on this website is a contractual offer. The document that binds us is a written quotation for your project, and where the two differ the quotation prevails. Nothing here is legal advice on firearms licensing either: the conditions on your certificate are decided by your licensing authority, and the guidance your force works from is the Home Office Firearms Security Handbook.
If you find an error, tell us. We correct pages and say that we have, rather than quietly editing them.
Links to other sites
Where we link to gov.uk, Historic England, the Health and Safety Executive, the Information Commissioner’s Office or any other external source, we do so because the material is genuinely useful and we would rather you read the original than our paraphrase of it. We have no control over those sites and we are not responsible for their content. We are not paid to link to anything, there are no affiliate arrangements anywhere on this website, and no third party has paid for a mention.
Complaints
In the first instance, write to the director at the registered office or email enquiries@sportingcabinetmakers.com marked for his attention. We aim to acknowledge within two working days and to give a substantive answer within fourteen.
If we cannot resolve it between us, a consumer client may refer the matter to an approved alternative dispute resolution provider; we will tell you which one applies and whether we agree to use it. That does not affect your right to take the matter to court. Consumer clients also have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 which nothing on this website or in our terms restricts.
Governing law
This website, and any contract formed with Reeve & Co Interiors Limited, are governed by the law of England and Wales and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. This applies equally to European and American commissions, and is stated in every quotation we issue outside the United Kingdom.
Anything unclear?
If you want the insurance certificates, the VAT number or a copy of our standard terms before you commit to anything, ask and they will come by return.
