Privacy and Cookies
The short version: we use what you send us to answer your enquiry and to build what you ask for. We do not sell it, share it or use it to advertise at you. This site sets no cookies at all unless you accept them.
Sporting Cabinetmakers is a trading name of Reeve & Co Interiors Ltd, Stonham Road, Mickfield, Stowmarket, Suffolk IP14 5LS. We are the data controller for the information described here. If you want to talk to a person about any of it, email sales@reeveandco.com or ring 01449 710500.
What we collect, and why
| What | Why | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Name, email, telephone, county and postcode | To answer your enquiry and to work out whether we can reach you | Legitimate interests, and steps taken at your request before entering a contract |
| What you tell us about your collection and your room | To design the piece. This is the whole point of the gun list | Steps taken at your request before entering a contract |
| Photographs and drawings you send | To survey and design | Steps taken at your request before entering a contract |
| Analytics data, if you accept cookies | To see which pages are useful and which are not | Your consent |
What we deliberately do not ask for
We do not ask for serial numbers, certificate numbers, or anything else that identifies a specific firearm, because we do not need them to design a cabinet and holding them would create a risk for no benefit. If you send them anyway, we will delete them and carry on with the rest.
We do not ask for payment details through this website. Nothing on this site takes a payment.
Who sees it
Us. Our cabinetmakers and our fitters see what they need to build and install your piece.
We do not sell, rent, trade or share enquiry information with third parties for their marketing. We do not pass your details to other trades, to lead-generation companies, or to anybody else who might want them.
Three exceptions, all of them ordinary:
- Our email and website hosting providers, who hold the data on our behalf under contract and do not use it for anything of their own.
- Google, for website analytics, but only if you accept cookies. See below.
- Where we are required to by law, or by a court.
We will discuss the proposed specification with your police firearms licensing department where you have asked us to, because that is a service we offer and it is why the FEO conversation happens before anything is made. We do that with your knowledge, not behind you, and we do not initiate it unprompted.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become commissions: three years, then deleted. People come back to this decision after a long time, and it is more useful to you if we still have your gun list than if we have thrown it away.
- Commissions: for as long as the piece is likely to exist, because we are asked for replacement keys, matching pieces, alterations and care advice years afterwards. Drawings and specifications are part of the record of the work.
- Accounting records: six years, as HMRC requires.
If you would rather we did not keep any of it, say so and we will delete it.
Cookies
This site does not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, social media trackers or profiling of any kind. There is no advertising on it.
Until you press Accept, no analytics cookies are set. Google’s tag is loaded in what it calls consent mode, which means it stores nothing and reads nothing on your device until you say otherwise. If you decline, it stays that way and the site works exactly as it did before.
| Cookie | Set by | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| sc_consent | This site | Remembers whether you accepted or declined, so you are not asked on every page. Strictly necessary — set whichever way you answer | 6 months |
| _ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes one visitor from another. Only set if you accept | 2 years |
| _ga_<ID> | Google Analytics | Keeps the session state. Only set if you accept | 2 years |
Your IP address is truncated before it is stored, so the analytics data tells us the county rather than the house. We do not connect analytics data to your enquiry, and we could not do so if we wanted to.
Changed your mind? Reopen the cookie choice, or clear this site’s cookies in your browser and you will be asked again.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- Show you what we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete it, where we do not need it for a contract or for accounts
- Stop using it for a particular purpose, or restrict what we do with it
- Hand it over in a portable form, where that applies
Email sales@reeveandco.com and mark it for the attention of the director. We will answer within one month and there is no charge.
If we get it wrong and you are not satisfied with how we have dealt with it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would much rather you came to us first.
Photographs of finished work
We do not publish client names, addresses or photographs of completed work without written permission. Where permission is given, we still do not identify the house or the county unless we are asked to. This is why the photographs on this site show the work rather than the room it sits in — which is a deliberate decision about our clients’ security, not a shortage of photographs.
Other sites
Where we link to somewhere else — legislation, the Home Office, a British Standard — that site has its own privacy notice and we are not responsible for it.
Changes
If we change how any of this works we will change this page, and the date below.
Last updated August 2026. Sporting Cabinetmakers is a trading name of Reeve & Co Interiors Ltd, registered in England, Stonham Road, Mickfield, Stowmarket, Suffolk IP14 5LS.
Privacy and cookies: who holds your information
The data controller for this website is Reeve & Co Interiors Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, trading as Sporting Cabinetmakers, of Stonham Road, Mickfield, Stowmarket, Suffolk, IP14 5LS. Written enquiries about anything on this page should go to the workshop, marked for the attention of the director.
Our lawful bases under the UK GDPR are straightforward. For answering an enquiry and preparing a quotation, legitimate interests. For a commission that goes ahead, performance of a contract. For anything we are required to keep — accounting records, for instance — legal obligation. We do not rely on consent for anything except non-essential cookies, and we do not send marketing email at all.
Gun lists, addresses and why we treat them differently
A gun list plus an address is sensitive in a way that most enquiry data is not, and we handle it accordingly. It is held in the workshop’s own systems rather than in any marketing platform, it is not shared with any third party, it is not used for advertising, and it is deleted when a commission completes or when an enquiry goes cold — twelve months at the outside. If you would rather not send a list by email at all, say so and we will arrange another route.
Your rights, and how to use them
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to our holding it at all. Write to us and we will answer within one calendar month, without charge. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, which is the UK’s independent regulator for data protection.

Cookies this site sets, in full
Until you accept, this site sets nothing but the cookie that records your choice. If you decline, no analytics load at all — the tags are not merely anonymised, they are not fired.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
sc_consent | This site | Records whether you accepted or declined. Strictly necessary; set regardless of choice. | 6 months |
_ga | Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes one visitor from another. Only set if you accept. | 13 months |
_ga_<id> | Google Analytics 4 | Maintains session state. Only set if you accept. | 13 months |
There is no advertising pixel on this site. There is no Meta pixel, no LinkedIn insight tag, no remarketing of any kind, and we do not build audiences from visitors. IP anonymisation is on and Google Signals is off, which means the analytics cannot be used to identify you and are not shared for advertising.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the link in the footer, and clearing your browser’s cookies for this site resets it entirely.
How long we keep things
| What | Kept for | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Enquiry emails that go nowhere | 12 months | People come back a season later |
| Gun lists and address details, no commission | 12 months, then deleted | Sensitive; no reason to hold longer |
| Gun lists where a commission proceeds | Duration of the commission + 12 months | Warranty and re-racking queries |
| Drawings and specification sheets | Indefinitely | Needed if you move house or add to a collection |
| Invoices and accounting records | 6 years | Required by law |
| Photographs of finished work | Indefinitely, with permission | Never location-tagged, never client-named |
| Website analytics | 14 months | Google Analytics retention setting |
Third parties who see anything
Our email and file storage are Microsoft 365, hosted in the United Kingdom. Website analytics are Google Analytics 4. Website hosting is with our web contractor in the United Kingdom. That is the complete list — we use no CRM, no email marketing platform and no lead-generation service, and nobody buys or receives data from us for any purpose.
Security
Accounts are protected by multi-factor authentication. Gun lists are held in the workshop’s own file store rather than in any shared or marketing system, and access is limited to the people working on the commission. If we ever suffered a breach likely to result in a risk to your rights, we would tell the Information Commissioner within 72 hours and tell you directly without delay.
Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
